Inter dorm rankings?

I was wondering if any of you like the idea of ranking everyone in the Dorm.

The reason I propose this is due to the fact that, on a basic level, Obelisk Blue is as high as it can go. I figured some of us may feel that with nothing left to strive for we find ourselves with little will to improve.

So I propose a ranking within our ranking.


I suggest a simple numerical system. Initially, we would not have a rank that is set in stone so I suggest setting it up alphabetically at first. Obviously the ranking system would be simply adjusting for a while so nothing on it would be valid. Within a few weeks the list should begin to seem more complete and much more representative of where we actually stand.

The way it would work is as follows:


RANKING:

1. Player A
2. Player B
3. Player C
4.Player D
5.Player E


If player D beat Player C they would simply change positions on the list.

If Player E beat Player C, Player C would move down to 5th, Player D would become 3rd and Player E would become 4th.

Essentially, if you beat someone, they take your place and everyone above you (including yourself) moves up one space.

This way you can only truly stay at the top if you are the best. It's hard to climb but easy to fall ensuring that it remains dynamic and interesting.

I'm glad you like my idea and I hope things start falling back into place around here.

I like this idea. New people however, since they are on the bottom of the list, will not want to be get dueled much. Either for people thinking they suck, or that there is no gain in doing so (besides the normal dc gain)

If you mean people that join after the ranking system is already in place, then yes, I see where you are coming from. However, there are great deals of people out there who thrive on having a stage on which to prove themselves. This would give them that opportunity.

I have nothing wrong with the actual idea of a ranking system, but some sort of alterations should be made. When the details are hammered out more, then I guess we will all see how it could turn out.

What kind of alterations would you suggest?

Judging from your first post in this topic, I gather you think that an incentive other than knowing where you stand should be part of this.
