New Tester Positions Open!

All right, since no other admin has been active enough to do/notice this..

Recently, LDA has been flooded with new members, but unfortunately we don't have enough active testers to test them all. The only two active testers now are Omega 6 and Niptaker, and they're not always free, since they both have other important things to do too. I also find that people who need to get a test after a certain time(usually 6:00 PM PST), never find a tester. Therefore, I will be taking Tester applications, so we can fill in the these empty seats.

Requirements to apply:
1. Must have at least 50 posts
2. Must have been in LDA for at least 20 days.
3. Must at least have achieved the rank of Ra Yellow*
4. Active member of LDA**

*I've always thought of it this way: To become a mod, you mainly need activity, honesty, and responsibility. To become a tester, you need analytical skills, and you need some dueling skills, IMO. Also, this rule is to exclude those of you who have decided to become a Slifer, be it because you liked Red or because you wanted the DC, I honestly, don't really care.^^

**I know we all have different definitions of "active". You can decide for yourself whether you consider yourself active, but seriously, if you log in twice a week, and post once a week, please don't apply, as I guarantee you will not be accepted. I know normally activity isn't a big issue to become a tester, but since I'm accepting testers mainly because there aren't enough active testers, I'll be needing active testers. (That was pretty redundant, wasn't it?)

Yeah, it's a pretty big application; just fill out as much of it as possible, as best you can. It may get a bit repetitive, but it doesn't really matter. I'm a bit tired, so... whatever.

Also, to let you know, if you get accepted past round 1(after applications), there's a round 2, for no other reason than to irritate you and make it harder!(Just kidding about reason.) The second part of this is a dueling test. I will arrange the testing by myself.

And, that's all I can think of right now, although I know I had more in mind.

Why you deserve to be a Tester?: I have plenty of experience with yugioh and I know quite a bit of the rulings. I also love to help duelist after dueling them. I enjoy stating things that may have went wrong or could be used to improve your game.
Why do you want to be a Tester?: I want to help out LDA and help out the duelist I duel.
What decks do you plan on using for testing?: I would use Zombie Synchro, Jinzo lockdown, and a traditional Monarch deck, along with other decks that I may come up with.
What decks do you plan on banning for testing?: The standards: Mill, Burn, Lightsworn, Gladiator Beast, Blackwing, and OTK/FTK. These type decks do not require much knowledge or skill to win with.
Do you often use meta-decks? Yes, in a way. I use a variety of decks, meta and not. Currently I play Lightsworn quite a bit, along with some less known decks. I also run, while not the biggest meta deck, Zombie synchro.

Why you deserve to be a Tester?: I am a very skilled duelist. I duel with my head and my heart. I duel with all my might in every duel. I know the Yu-Gi-Oh ruels. I am 18, I am very mature. I don't look at the score as a reason to give someone a rank. Even if I beat them 2-0 or they beat me 2-0. I look at their skill, their playing style, their attitude. I am always on more then then a lot of other testers. Not naming names XD. I have a great attitude, Great personality, I am very friendly. I have a lot of dedication to become a tester.

Why do you want to be a Tester?: I want to be a Tester because, I've always wanted to become a Tester for LDA not even going to lie xD. I want to help people, and I just love the responsibility of choosing a rank for the tested. Its a big responsibility. I want to help LDA with anything LDA needs help with, and I just think this is the perfect job for me.

If you say you have testing experience, please state where you test, etc.

Marik Ishtar, don't worry about it. Just writing EST is fine. If you live in the US, you can just write PST, CST, or EST. Just specify in relation to GMT if you live out of the US.

And yes, Dark Synchro, you have to wait a few days.

And to give a little more information about testing: There will be two tests(There may be a third if I have time to give it, but as of now, I'll leave it at 2).

Testing 1: The first test is a duelist test, as stated. Winning/losing, of course, doesn't matter a lot. As I always say, it's more of what you do, what you know, and how you play.

Testing 2: The second test is a rulings test. Just a test with 2-3 multiple choice questions. There is a right answer, but these are pretty tough questions. so you don't necessarily have to get them right. I've made it so that there are "Better answers", and depending on the answer you picked, I'd be able to figure out how you thought about it.

Why you deserve to be a Tester?: I like the whole premise of an Academy and would like to help it expand in any way that I am able to. To say I deserve to be a tester would be arrogant of me; I don't deserve any more than the others who register here. However, I am a hard worker. I work well as part of a team and can work to the same standard on my own initiative. I am loyal, punctual and put a lot of effort into everything I set out to do.

Do you often play with meta decks?: Yes, I play both with and against them fairly often. Although that's not to say I don't use other decks.
What type of decks do you plan on testing with?:Well, I believe that to accurately test someone you would have to see how they handle themselves in different situations. If I were a tester I would play against the duelist four times, each time using a deck that utilizes a different strategy. The decks I would use would have the duelist face the following: Meta deck, Skill Drain, Burn, and an Anti-Meta deck. They would not be graded on solely if they won or not. Rather, it would be based on how they got out of (or prevented) the situations they faced.
Do you plan on banning any decks for testing?:No. I disagree with the idea of limiting a duelist based on personal preference. Sure, I get tired of playing Lightsworns that just seem to play themselves but there are still tactical decisions to be made. However scare they may be. I'm far more likely to be impressed by someone who uses their own deck and does well as opposed to someone who plays your run of the mill Meta deck that can be found with a quick Google search.
