Report System!

Okay Aster, but two questions:

1) Firstly, if someone other than you takes a report, would we message you over Hamachi or something and say, "So-and-so made this report, give/take away some DC from him/her?" Just mentioning that because others can take them too.

2) I don't think the subtracting DC is necessary, unless they just report some random post and say, " This breaks the rules" when it doesn't. I noticed you said you'll just let it slide if you can tell why they might have made a false report, but what if you can't? I'd suggest only taking DC away for reports that are just completely unnecessary is all ^^0

Also, I've noticed a certain someone's made a fairly decent use of the report button, just to say O_O

Meaning someone else does the report. There were a couple yesterday I did, along with one just now. That's what I meant by that XD

Are all reports anonymous? cause sometimes I see double posts, and I don't wanna report cause people might get mad >_>

Well, people can look here offcourse, only here they see who reported anything.
They just won't see who reported what exactly.

And who cares that they get mad -.-

Well, the one who checks your report knows who it's from. But aside from that, the most one would know is that you reported something.

I just noticed this topic. Perhaps it's not the right place for me to say so, but I don't think successful rewards should be congratulated in such a manner as awarding credits. It's motivating people to hunt for posts to report, urges them to become snitches, if I may use that word, and pretty much reminds of dictatorship, with paid spies doing the dirty work. Yes, it looks like payment to me.

I agree a report button should exist, but if members aren't sensible enough to use it correctly without motivation such as this, there is no point in pushing the user-based control of the forum with promises of rewards. Its use becomes entirely different in that case.

Yeah, actually... there's two people who use the report button often, and it'd be obvious if it was post hunting because of the date on the post ._.

As a side note, I didn't come up with/agree fully to this, I only followed it because at the time it was made I kinda... couldn't do much (Moderator status, yay!)

But yeah, maybe leave it to Aster,Grace and Ace to make this choice to keep it or not? Since using this to encourage people to use the report button was the intention, not to get them to post hunt for DC ._.

The post was not about you, or anyone in particular. In fact I just now realised all the "UP: +10 DC" meant "Unforgiven Pretender", and judging from posts in that topic I think you'd be the kind of guy to report even before the "awards". Which, btw, is the kinda of member a forum would want.

What you're describing is fine and imo natural. I'm just expressing my concerns that spam/credit hunting may be caused from all this.
